Police have today commenced basic training for over 200 new recruits.
The Police said on their website that basic training has commenced at the Addu Academy for 210 recruits, of which 162 are male, and 48 female.
Police held an inauguration ceremony for the training yesterday, with Police Academy Executive Director Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Abdul Rahman as guest of honour.
The basic training will cover knowledge and skills necessary for new recruits as they take up policing. This includes sessions on physical training, safety, laws and regulations and police duties.
