The cleaning work commenced this morning in front of "Luxury" shop on Majeedhee Magu and has since expanded to other areas of Male'.
Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works Adam Shareef visited the sites to inspect the progress.
Previously, Male' City Council was responsible for maintaining the city's gutters.
Mayor Adam Azim expressed his gratitude to the ministry for taking on the task.
Mayor Azim said in a post on X that he appreciates their support in the council’s ongoing efforts to keep Male' clean.
He highlighted that collaboration between institutions and the public is key to maintaining a beautiful, green, and comfortable Male'.
