A video has surfaced showing a toddler being rescued from a fifth-floor apartment window in the Henveiru ward of Male'.
The video, approximately 50 seconds long, shows the child climbing onto the window ledge, with his legs dangling outside. The apartment had no balcony, and the window directly overlooked the street.
The child also climbed further up, sitting on the windowsill as onlookers below urging the toddler to go back inside.
The child was rescued when someone had pulled the child inside. It is unclear whether the person was a member of the household or someone who entered the apartment upon noticing the incident.
