FHAM Exhibition begins, featuring 10,000 brands

This year's FHAM expo sees participation from over 100 exhibitors, who will be featuring over 10,000 brands. These include housekeeping brands, signage businesses, fruit and vegetable suppliers, food and beverage suppliers and tourism related businesses.

Maldives' largest hospitality expo, Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives (FHAM) has commenced today at Dharubaaruge in Male' City.

This year's expo sees participation from over 100 exhibitors, who will be featuring over 10,000 brands. These include housekeeping brands, signage businesses, fruit and vegetable suppliers, food and beverage suppliers and tourism related businesses.

In addition to Maldives, some of the companies featured in this year's expo are from Singapore, UAR, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka and elsewhere.

CEO and Managing Director of event organizer CDC Events Imran Hassan said that this year's FHAM will become one of the most successful events led by the company, with over 5000 visitors expected to attend.

Speaking at the inauguration of the exhibition, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed said that the event plays a key role contributing to the tourism sector of the country.

He highlighted that the culinary challenge held within the event offers the chance for local chefs to showcase their skills.

"As Maldives is a premium tourism brand, my hope is that through competitions such as the culinary challenge being held in this exhibition, Maldivian cuisine makes it to menus of airlines," Saeed said.

The culinary challenge commenced yesterday, with 21 categories.

In addition to this challenge, the exhibition will also see a barista challenge, a mocktail challenge and a housekeeping challenge. The challenges have over 700 total participants.

FHAM will be held until next Wednesday. The three day event will be open everyday from 10:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs.
