Black Ant Fishing was named the winner of the Ooredoo Mas Race held on Friday in Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Thinadhoo.

Abdulla Didi from Black Ant Fishing made the heaviest catch of the competition, landing a 7 kilo marlin. Dhaus Hassan from Hoandeddhoo Masverin was named the best fisherman, while Athika Mohamed and Aishath Noofaa Ali from Team MIB were emerged as the best female fishermen.
The first-place team was awarded MVR 25,000, with the second and third-place teams receiving MVR 10,000 and MVR 5,000, respectively. The best fisherman and best fisherwoman were each awarded MVR 1,000 and a Pio Ultimate Sea Spirit/Gangster (H/D) rod.
The Ooredoo Mas Race is an annual fishing competition held in celebration of Ooredoo's anniversary and remains a popular event organized by the company each year.
This year's tournament is being held across three islands. The next race, originally scheduled for August 16 in Lhaviyani atoll Naifaru, was canceled due to bad weather. Ooredoo has announced that a new date for the race will be revealed soon.
