Sonee Fishing won the title of Malé City Champions in Ooredoo Mas Race which started last Friday.
The Sonee Fishing team secured the championship title with a total of 860.34 points. Their performance earned them the winning prize of MVR 25,000.
DeTune Fishing secured the runner-up position in the Malé City Mas Race, accumulating a total of 698.7 points. Third place was claimed by State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) men's team, achieving a total of 412.18 points, showcasing their skill and dedication in the competition.
The title of Best Fisherman was clinched by Naushaad, from Team Crunchies, while the title of Best Fisherwoman was awarded to Fezu, from DeTune Fishing.
The heaviest fish caught in the tournament, a Giant Trevally weighing 17.54kg, was caught by Waleed from team Sonee Fishing.
The next competition of Ooredoo Mas Race is scheduled to take place in Haa Dhaal atoll Kulhudhuffushi this Friday. The competition will then move to Addu City on August 18, followed by another event in Fuvahmulah City on August 25.
Ooredoo Mas Race is an annual competition that has garnered increasing popularity over the years. This year's edition stands out as the largest with competitions spanning across four different cities.
