In this segment of the conversation with Dr Maumoon Shareef, Head of Hulhumale' Hospital's Mental Health Centre, we discuss the pressures of juggling the demands of working and parenting.

He speaks about how the onus is often on mothers to provide equal care in both roles, as well as to discipline the children, emphasizing the importance of sharing parenting roles between mothers and fathers.

"... the pressure is on the mother for being, for providing equal care to work and to their children. But that is unfair. The father should also make the same distinction, the father should also spend time with his own children and give them the attention they need," Dr Maumoon said.

Dr Maumoon highlights the necessity for financial independence for women, thus making it beneficial for them to work. He offers tips on how to cope with wearing two hats - that of a caring mother, and of a dedicated professional.
