The tenth floor of a building located just off Maaveyo Magu in capital Male' City has caught fire this evening, leaving the surrounding area in cloud of smoke.
The incident occurred at Niyandhurumaage.
Maldives National Defence Force said that the fire had originated in a warehouse located on the building's tenth floor.
MNDF Fire and Rescue teams are currently active in the area, and they said the fire is largely controlled now.
