EyeCare Hospital has commenced an eye screening camp in Noonu atoll.
This camp falls under a program the company started last year where they aim to provide the hospital's services across the atolls and offer eye screening services to the public.
The camp commenced on October 28 and visited Shaviyani atoll Feydhoo, Foakaidhoo, Kanditheemu, Komandoo, Lhaimagu, Maaun'goodhoo, Kendhikulhudhoo, and Milandhoo.
From November 19th onwards, the camp is focusing on Noonu atoll, and has now visited Velidhoo and Holhudhoo. The hospital is now preparing to move the camp to Landhoo and Maafaru in Noonu atoll.
The camp will be held in Landhoo from November 28 to 30, with it moving to Maafaru from December 1 to 3.
The camp offers services such as screening for cataracts, glaucoma and retina issues. Those who so wish can also place orders for prescription glasses.
Appointments can be made at the Health Centres of the respective islands.
EyeCare said that the camp aims to provide services to those who wish to seek services from EyeCare but are unable to travel to Male' for various reasons, and to promote eye health across the country.
They said that many atolls have now been covered under this initiative, with more trips planned for the coming year.
The eye screening camps are organized in collaboration with Health Centres and Regional Hospitals in the islands.
