Police said that a fight that had broken out between two individuals in Kanduhulhudhoo had been reported last night.
Both individuals, a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old man had sustained injuries. The two are currently receiving treatment at the Atoll Hospital on Gaafu Alifu Villingili.
Details about the cause of the altercation remain unclear, and police have not provided further information.
An official from Kanduhulhudhoo Health Centre told Mihaaru News that one of the injured men sustained a two-inch gash to his shoulder and has multiple injuries on his body. His condition is serious and preparations are underway to transfer him to Male'.
The second man suffered a large gash on his head, exposing his skull. While his injuries are severe, the official noted that his condition is stable and he remains under treatment at the Atoll Hospital.
