Treetop Hospital on Friday, conducted a clean-up of reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' in collaboration with Save the Beach Maldives (STB) and Parley Maldives.
As per a tweet by Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the clean-up was conducted to mark the first anniversary of Tree Top Hospital. HDC commended the hospital for its healthcare services and efforts to keep Hulhumale' clean.
Approximately 120 volunteers participated in the effort to collect waste from the east beach area of the city. A total of 105 bags full of garbage were collected after segregation.
The morning's activities concluded with an awareness session conducted by STB aimed to teach the volunteers how to properly manage waste, according to co-founder of the NGO Hassan Ahmed (Beybe).
Additionally, Hassan highlighted the importance of proper waste segregation and asserted that communal efforts could make an immense contribution to the governments waste management efforts.
