President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday appointed Mohamed Hameed as the Commissioner of Police (CP).
The new CP was given his official credentials at a ceremony held in Presidents Office.
The appointment was made by the President under Article 52(b) of the Police Act.
Hameed was serving as Acting Commissioner of Police until this appointment.
He has served in Maldives Police Services for over 20 years.
