Two people, on Saturday, were arrested for the theft of MVR 2 million from a van of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).
Police stated that two males, aged 19 and 23, were arrested under a court order. They mentioned that the 19-year-old is to be detained for 15 days.
As the 23-year-old was apprehended on Saturday night, the duration of his detention has not been decided.
Police have not revealed whether the stolen cash has been found or not.
The van was stopped by four men on motorcycles wearing helmets to conceal their identity, who then shattered the window on the driver's side and damaged the windshield before stealing the money.
