The President’s Office, on Sunday, stated that the first 100 days of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration will be completed on April 12.

President Solih beat former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in the September 2018 presidential election, and was sworn in on November 17 that year. In his campaign, President Solih promised to announce the provision of several services to the public in the first 100 days of his presidency.

Including public holidays, 100 days of presidency would have been fulfilled in late February. However, the President’s Office decided to count the 100 days of presidency excluding all public holidays.

Chief Communications Strategist at the President’s Office, Ibrahim Hoodh, informed local media Mihaaru that 100 days of presidency will be marked on April 12. He mentioned that the public will be made aware of all steps taken by President Solih in fulfilling his vows to the people.

“A countdown to the celebration of the first 100 days of this administration will begin on March 27. Details of all initiatives taken in every sector will be made public within the ten days”, said Hoodh.

A total of 161 campaign promises are to be implemented within the first 100 days of presidency. The pledges were marked to be completed within 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days.
