Think Advertising has opened voting for Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO)’s “Maldives Travel Awards”, the largest travel awards event in the archipelago.
In a statement, the event’s organiser Think Advertising announced that voting is open on two platforms with SMS votes and online voting at the awards’ official website, www.travelawards.com. The website also contains details of the necessary codes for SMS voters.
The award winners will be determined by the scores earned by contenders based on their presentations and onsite visits in addition to votes. The ceremony is scheduled to be held in November.
The judge for the event this year is privately owned KPMG audit firm.
This year marks the highest number of contenders in the history of the event with 246 nominees competing in 35 categories.
MATATO had also introduced five additional categories to the awards this year with Leading Marketing Programme, Leading Human Resource Management, Leading Guesthouse Island, Leading F&B Outlet and Leading Airport Lounge.
The main sponsor for this year’s awards is Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) with additional partners Allied Insurance, Fuel Supplies Maldives, Public Service Media (PSM), Dhiraagu and Coca Cola. The online media partner is Mihaaru.
