Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s lawyer Abdulla Siyaz revealed that the hearing for Yameen’s appeal against the court order issued for his arrest is scheduled for 09 15 hours on Tuesday morning.
The appeal regarding the freezing of over MVR 100 million in Yameen’s bank accounts are also currently in court. The verdict of the case was scheduled to be delivered last Thursday, but this hearing was cancelled due to administrative issues.
Yameen was arrested over money laundering charges on February 18, and Criminal Court issued an order on February 19 for Yameen’s detention until the court proceedings conclude.
Former President Yameen is currently admitted in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) due to medical complications.
