A fire broke out in the fish processing factory in Hithadhoo, Addu Atoll, on Sunday.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the fire was reported at approximately 1753 hours in the afternoon. MNDF Southern Area officers set to work on extinguishing the fire.
No one was injured in the incident. However, the cause of the fire is yet unknown.
The fish factory was a private venture started by some locals. Some time had passed since the building was last used.
