Transparency Maldives (TM) launched 'Magey MP', loosely translated to 'My MP', a database to strengthen the process of public accountability of parliamentarians.

Using publicly available data mainly sourced from the parliament website, 'Magey MP' is designed to promote accountability of parliamentarians by providing citizens with a platform that readily displays parliament-related information.

At its beta stage of development, citizens can currently access how their elected representatives voted for bills during parliament sittings and their contact details.

The watchdog plans to include more data and additional features such as thematic reporting of bills, search feature for bills, creating customised reports, API access and the ability to download data sets on the portal.

The project is a collaborative effort by TM and a project team comprising of designers and developers. The portal is funded by International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
