Ministry of Health, on Sunday, announced that doctors and nurses would receive service allowance on off days and during annual leaves.
Human resources official from the ministry stated that the Civil Service Commission (CSC) had approved of the change and that the alterations would come into effect immediately.
Although nurses and doctors previously received service charge during off days and annual leaves, payment structure changes made during 2018 revoked these benefits. Afterwards, service allowance was only given for days worked.
The government had previously increased salaries for nurses, however, there have been several complaints of low amounts of disposable income.
