Former Thinadhoo MP Mohamed Gasam was appointed on Sunday as the Managing Director for State Trading Organization's (STO) subsidiary Fuel Suppliers Maldives (FSM).
The former parliamentarian from Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) was appointed during a board meeting of STO. He will officially start working as MD starting Monday.
Gasam's predecessor Hussain Didi was dismissed from the post last week due to various allegations of corruption against him.
Hussain Didi is accussed of illegally selling oil worth MVR 41 million on credit during President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom's presidency.
