The newly appointed Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka Omar Abdul Razzak, presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena at a ceremony held on Friday.

President Sirisena welcomed Ambassador Razzak to Sri Lanka during the ceremony held at the President’s House and expressed his wish to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Omar conveyed cordial greetings and good wishes from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to Sri Lankan citizens and their President.

Moreover, Ambassador Omar stated that Sri Lanka was one of the most important development partners for Maldives and assured President Sirisena that during his tenure, he would work diligently to further strengthen the long-standing friendly ties between the two countries.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Omar Abdul Razzak as the Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka on 20 January 2019.

The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse Aminath Zahir at the ceremony.
