Two people were severely burnt on Sunday in an explosion on ‘Sara’ live-aboard in Meeru Island Resort.
According to Police, the incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. 'Sara' was docked in the resort's lagoon during the time of the incident.
Police revealed that the burn victims were Maldivian and a Sri Lankan. They suffered severe burns on their faces and stomach.
The two people were transported from the resort to Tree Top Hospital, in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale, to undergo medical treatment.
Police disclosed that details about the explosive are not known, but clarified that the explosion did not cause a fire.
