Police, on Saturday, released the individual arrested regarding the death of Aishath Vishama, 27, who died in the reclaimed suburb of Hulhumale’.
The arrest was confirmed by a police spokesperson on Wednesday although no details regarding the apprehended person was made public.
The police have not disclosed further information which concerns the ongoing investigation.
Treetop Hospital reported the case to the police after Vishama was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, which was approximately 0930 hours on December 12.
According to eyewitness accounts received by local media outlet Mihaaru, Vishama's body was seen being taken out from an apartment in Amin Avenue.
The police are also investigating the case of a man who was discovered dead in a private residence in Hulhumale' on December 12.
