Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, on Tuesday, met with Advisor at the Office of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of United Arab Emirates, in Abu Dhabi.
Discussions during the meeting focused on areas of mutual interest of the two countries. Additionally, both parties also explored opportunities for greater cooperation by UAE in the developmental projects in Maldives.
Abdul Waris Saeed, Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Husen Amru Mohamed Rashad, CEO and Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO) accompanied Minister Shahid during this meeting.
Maldives and Saudi Arabia have diplomatic relations for over 37 years, and the relationship between the two countries were not hindered by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's recent rise to presidency.
