Vice Chancellor of Maldives National University (MNU), Dr Ali Fawaz Shareef, on Wednesday, announced the introduction of a PhD course on Public Health in 2019.
The Vice Chancellor made the announcement at the ceremony held to appoint the new Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS).
“God Willing, we will see the introduction of a PhD course in Public Health this year,” said Fawaz, speaking at the ceremony.
The Vice Chancellor, however, did not reveal any further details regarding the PhD programme.
Fawaz also revealed that MNU will introduce more courses within the year, in addition to the 16 courses currently run by the faculty which include a Master’s programme in Public Health as well.
MNU is currently the only university in Maldives to host PhD programme. The course offered is in the Education field.
