President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed Shafiu Ali as Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, and Ibrahim Mohamed Didi as Deputy Commissioner of Prisons on, Thursday.
The President's Office noted that Shafiu Ali had previously served in the education sector, as a secondary teacher and higher secondary teacher at Gnaviyani Atoll Education Centre. He also served as the principal of Ideal School of Fuvammulah City.
Shafiu Ali attained a Bachelor of Teaching from the Maldives National University.
Ibrahim Mohamed Didi was appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Prisons after Hassan Zilal resigned from the post on December 25, 2018.
According to the President’s Office, Ibrahim Mohamed Didi started serving at Maldives Correctional Service in 2006, and the last post he served before his new appointment was Superintendent of Prisons.
Additionally, Ibrahim Mohamed Didi completed Bachelor in Sharia and Law with honours.
