Maldives have launched efforts to form an online portal with all the government services, under the name gov.mv.
Minister of Communications Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal said it was an initiative by the ministry to end long hours of waiting in queues. He noted that people are forced to wait in lines for long periods of time to get services from various government institutions.
Minister Maleeh revealed that they were working towards an easier solution to providing services for the people.
He revealed that creating a website featuring all the islands in Maldives was also a vision of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He added that work is progressing well for this project as well.
The communications minister believes that once the website is up, featuring photos and information about local islands, it would also promote local tourism in Maldives.
