Aasandha budget exceeded by MVR 610 Million out of the allocated budget.

According to statistics released by Ministry of Finance, a sum of MVR 730 million was allocated as the budget for the Aasandha health insurance scheme. However, the statistics show a staggering MVR 1.6 billion spent to date which surpasses the originally allocated budget by MVR 610 million.

Additionally, the exceeded sum also includes subsidies amounting to MVR 923 million given to people in need of health insurance . This exceeds a sum of MVR 329 million from the allocated budget of MVR 549 million. Furthermore, the training budget amounted to MVR 435 million which exceeds the allocated sum of MVR 293 million by MVR 142 million.

Due to similar exceeded expenses, the largest sum for the government is determined as the recurrent expenditure. A total amount of MVR 26.8 million has already been spent, surpassing the government budget of MVR 16 billion allocated for this year.

Moreover, MVR 8.4 billion was spent on salaries and bonuses which included an exceeded amount of MVR 9 billion from the allocated budget.

MVR 7 billion of government's capital expenditure, out of which MVR 2.7 billion, was spent on transport expenditure which mainly included construction of roads and airports.
