President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday sent Minister of the President's Office, Ahmed Sameer, to Henbadhoo island in Noonu Atoll.
This is the first time that President Solih sent a delegate to a local island since taking office in November. The purpose of the trip is reportedly attending to the electrical shortage issues faced by the islanders.
The former Member of Parliament Sameer tweeted stating his intention to meet with the people of Henbadhoo during the official visit.
Further, in a statement given to local news Mihaaru, Sameer provided assurances that, after analysing the problems ailing Henbadhoo, the government would work to provide adequate solutions.
