Indian Ambassador Akhilesh Mishra, on Monday, revealed that the country will aid the current Maldivian government to fulfil their pledges for the first 100 days after taking office.

Akhilesh had announced the statement after meeting with Vice President Faisal Naseem at the President’s Office.

To help the government complete their first 100 day pledges, the Indian Ambassador stated that the country would provide aid for the fields of skill development, social and education sector of Maldives.

The Ambassador and the Vice President discussed ways the talented youth of the country could be empowered through joint efforts by the two countries.

Since taking office on November 17, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has greatly improved the relationship with neighbouring India.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attended the inauguration ceremony of President Solih, marking his first visit to Maldives.

President Solih will depart on his first official trip to India on December 17. Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid’s first diplomatic mission was to India as well.
