The cabinet members of the new administration and those assigned to public companies, and independent institutions ordered to reveal their financial statements to the public.

This is on the list of pledges to be completed within the first 100 days of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s regime.

Although it is not madated as per the constitution, top officials of the government and their spouse’s financial statement will be revealed to the public.

Additionally, the government will establish methods to review their statements on a regular basis.

The resolution was passed during the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday regarding the first 100 days of the new government.

This will be the first time in the history of the Maldives that the government officials and the representatives of the independent firms will have to reveal their financial statements.

President Solih’s government has introduced 20 ministry’s along with the appointment of the attorney general. In addition, 10 appointments have already been made to various posts in the President’s Office.

These new appointees to the President’s Office are also required to reveal to reveal their financial statements.
