The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in partnership with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), has launched an online interactive quiz on the population issues of Maldives.

Launched on November 1, the quiz is part of UNFPA's communication strategy to disseminate the findings in the 'Maldives Population Projections 2014-2054' and 'Thematic Analysis on Youth in the Maldives', released earlier this year.

The overall objective of the quiz is to "create social awareness on population issues focused on youth stressing how decision makers can foster their health, education, employment and overall well-being before 2030", stated UNFPA.

Aiming to engage the youth and society at large in critically thinking through population-related issues, and build their own opinions on important socio-economic issues in the Maldives, the quiz will be available online for several months.

UNFPA is the UN agency on sexual and reproductive health. UNFPA Maldives launched the 'Maldives Population Projections 2014-2054' on World Population Day, July 11, which revealed that the archipelago's increasing population is expected to reach one million by 2054, with half of the resident population in capital Male City.
