Police have arrested two people over the violently assaulting and stabbing a 17-year-old boy in Fuvamulah on Wednesday.
The suspects are a 21-year-old man and 15-year-old, who was arrested for breaking into Ahmed Inan's house to assault him.
Managing Director of Fuvahmulah Hospital, Mohamed Faruzaadh, stated that Inan, who remains in critical condition, will be transferred to capital Male for further treatment shortly.
Inan. who sustained five stab wounds to the head in addition to those on his neck and body. is currently on life support.
Faruzaadh stated that Inan must be observed by a neurosurgeon as soon as possible, and take an MRI or CT scan to assess brain damage.
The police had also recently launched a special operation to curb the recent surge of gang violence in the capital city.
