Local telecom giant Dhiraagu, on Thursday, opened applications for its apprenticeship programe.
At a press conference held at the Dhiraagu head office in capital Male’, the company's Marketing and Communications Manager Bishara Hameed stated that applications would be accepted until November 14.
Applicants will be interviewed at the head office and regional offices in other atolls, after which 30 individuals will be chosen.
Apprentices will be given the chance to work in different departments of the company including marketing, sales, finance, procurement, human resources, information systems and engineering networks.
Bishara stated that the main aim of their apprenticeship was to familiarise Maldivian youth with the job market and teach them useful practical skills.
Dhiraagu has been holding the apprenticeship programme since 2009. So far, a total of 168 youths have been trained under the apprenticeship, many of whom are currently employed at Dhiraagu or other prominent local companies.
