President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Monday, met with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
Gayoom later posted a tweet, stating that he and the president-elect had a discussion regarding the current political situation of Maldives.
Solih won the recently held election against Gayoom's estranged half-brother, incumbent President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
The former president is a key member of the coalition represented by Solih.
The coalition has replied to criticisms which forewarn their disintegration, stating that national interests would be prioritized over personal gains.
This is the second time that Solih and the former president have met since Gayoom was released from prison.
The two had discussed ruling in accordance to the people's wishes in a coalition government.
