First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim returned to Maldives early Thursday after a trip abroad.
When the first lady left Maldives on October 4, the opposition coalition accused her of fleeing the country.
The First Lady flew to Saudi Arabia to perform the Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah.
Upon her return on Thursday morning, she was received at Velana International Airport (VIA) by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, and some leading members of the government and Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
Supporters of the ruling party also gathered to welcome her at the Presidential Jetty in capital Male'.
