President-Elect Solih meets with Major General Shiyam

President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF's) Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam on Monday.

The meeting, which took place at MNDF Headquarters, was attended by Major General Ahmed Shiyam as well as Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid.

Accompanying President-Elect Solih to the meeting were MNDF's former Brigadier General and Male-area commander during the MDP-led government, also the parliamentary member for the Hithadhoo (Central) constituency Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, as well as MDP's national council member and lawyer Hisaan Hussain.

The details pertaining to the discussions that took place at the meeting have not been revealed by either party.

After his decisive victory at the ballot boxes following the presidential elections held on September 23, President-elect Solih has been making rounds visiting various government offices and institutions and meeting with the respective leaders.

As such, Solih has met with the former Acting Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz who was recently appointed as a Deputy Minister for Environment and Energy and the General of Customs Mohamed Junaid. He has also met with the employees of Maldives Customs Service on two separate occasions.

In addition, Solih also met with former Brigadier General Abdulla Shamaal earlier last week.
