Opposition coalition's presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) has pledged to reclaim land in Vaavu Atoll islands to issue land plots to the citizens.

Speaking on a campaign trip to islands of Vaavu Atoll, Ibu revealed the policies that will be used by an opposition administration to develop the islands.

Ibu highlighted the lack of land space in Vaavu Atoll's Fulidhoo and Keyodhoo, and vowed to reclaim land in both islands to ensure housing to all.

Ibu further pledged to establish a picnic island in the atoll to the people of Vaavu Atoll.

During his speech, Ibu noted that in an opposition administration, the government will ensure the provision of housing, basic needs and services and an efficient transport system in every atoll.

Ibu commented on the rise of guesthouses in the atoll, and pledged to issue loans to help develop the guesthouse business, in an administration of the opposition.
