A young man was killed after being stabbed with a sharp object in capital Male on Friday night.
Local media Mihaaru has come to know that the young man from Faresmaathodaa, Gaafu DhaaluI Ibrahim Aagil was only 18 years old.
Aagil was stabbing following an outbreak of violence between gangs near Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).
Although he was immediately taken to ADK Hospital for treatment, the young man was pronounced dead upon arrival as per the hospital.
According to the police, they are seriously investigating the incident. However, until now, no arrests have been made in relation to the case.
Furthermore, the police had not revealed any details regarding the incident, and only issued a warning to the public, stating that those who attempt to overthrow the peace in the Maldives and encourage violence will be severely punished.
Recently there has been an upsurge in gang violence within the capital Male, landing many in hospitals with fatal injuries.
