Two Hangnaameedhoo councillors sign for PPM

Two island councillors from Alif Dhaal Atoll Hangnaameedhoo signed for ruling Party, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) on Sunday.

During a ceremony held at PPM office, Council President Moosa Nazim and Vice President Hassan Ashraf signed for PPM. Both the councillors took part and won the local council elections as nonpartisan candidates.

After signing, they had handed over their forms to the party's two vice presidents, MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla and Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer.

MP Abdul Raheem welcomed the new party members and said that both of them joining PPM shows that people are saying yes to development. He added that the councillors joining PPM is a proud accomplishment for them.

While speaking at the ceremony Zameer described the two councillors signing their allegiance to PPM, as a sign of further assurance towards party's success in the upcoming elections.

The councillors said that their decision to join PPM was due to seeing the development this government was bringing to Hangnaameedhoo. they added that they are ready to do everything they can to re-elect President Yameen for another term.

In addition to the council members, some of the youth had also joined PPM in the same ceremony.
