Health ministry kicks off medical camp with Pakistani doctors

Ministry of Health, in joint efforts with super specialist doctors of Pakistan, has inaugurated medical camps at eight different hospitals in the Maldives.

Health Ministry stated that the week-long camp will be held both at regional and atoll hospitals across Maldives.

The medical camp will be held at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Haa Alifu Atoll Hospital, Haa Dhaalu Atoll Hospital, Shaviyani Atoll Hospital, Faafu Atoll Hospital, Dhaalu Atoll Hospital, Thaa Atoll Hospital and Laamu Gan Regional Hospital.

A total of seven specialist doctors from Pakistan are set to join the medical camp.

Out of the seven specialist doctors, the Urologist, Breast Surgeon, Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Neurosurgeon will be consulting at state hospital IGMH.

The remaining three specialist doctors will be consulting at atoll hospitals across the Maldives.

IGMH is currently open to register for camp consultations from 8:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. until upcoming Tuesday. Registrations can also be made at the surgical department and by contacting the state hospital landline.

The first of its kind, the medical camp provides specialist consultations to patients, carries out surgical procedures, and further educates and trains healthcare professionals in the Maldives within their areas of practice.
