Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has awarded the project to develop 145 mixed use residential units in the reclaimed suburb of Hulhumale to Rainbow Construction Pvt Ltd.
HDC’s managing director Mohamed Saiman and Rainbow Construction’s director Mazin Ibrahim Rafeeq signed the agreement for the housing units, which are to be constructed in Hulhumale’s waterfront area.
According to HDC, the apartments are to be completed within two years and two months.
Speaking to Mihaaru, Rainbow Construction’s director Mazin disclosed that two towers will be developed by the Hulhumale ferry terminal, which will feature commercial units such as stores in the first two storeys. Two swimming pools will also be constructed for its residents, he added.
Rainbow further stated that the new housing unit complex will have facilities including an underground parking lot, a gym in each tower, children’s playground, two day care centres, and a garbage collection point in the basement of each tower.
“We will commence apartment sales over the next month,” said Mazin, adding that the housing complex will become one of the most pleasant regions of Hulhumale.
Rainbow Construction had previously developed three apartment complexes in Hulhumale, with the ongoing construction of 20 row houses in the reclaimed island.
Further details on the new mixed used residential housing complex will be provided at Rainbow Construction’s hotline +960 3340420.
HDC has currently signed agreements to develop housing units in Hulhumale with various companies including Ensis Fisheries, Renatas, Damas, Batch Construction and Apollo Holdings.
