Telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives declared that being a recipient of “Ran Laari” Award, which is annually awarded by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) to consistent tax payers that pay the highest amount of tax, is a great boost for the company to keep moving forward.

MIRA had awarded Ran Laari to 17 entities from 11 categories this year during the celebration of its sixth anniversary held at Dharubaaruge convention centre on Tuesday night. Ooredoo was awarded Ran Laari under the category of large businesses that pay Goods and Services Tax (GST).

In a statement released Friday regarding the award, Ooredoo attributed its receipt of Ran Laari to its provision of creative solutions to society at rates recognised by the public. The company stated that the Ran Laari awarded was also proof of Ooredoo’s integral business policies and procedures.

Ooredoo’s CEO Vikram Sinha thanked the Maldives’ government for the honour and declared the company’s full support in lifting the nation to the next level in information and communications technology.

Ooredoo also announced a month long campaign of various activities as a show of gratitude for all the public support and encouragement.
