The “Qaanoonee Radheef” (legal dictionary) compiled by former Attorney General Husnu Al Suood was published Sunday by the Maldives Law Institute.
The book was officially inaugurated by the former island chief of Eydhafushi in Baa atoll, Ali Yahya.
Former Prosecutor General Ahmed Muizzu and former Deputy Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem were amongst prominent lawyers to join the book-launching event held at law institute.
The new legal dictionary consists of over 1200 detailed explanations of legal terms, along with their corresponding English terms.
The book’s app for Android users was also launched at Sunday’s event. Suood revealed the iOS app for the book would also be launched soon.
Besides legal terms, the book also contains Dhivehi terms used in banking and other administrative matters.
The “Qaanoonee Radheef” costs MVR 200 and is available at local bookshops.
