President Abdulla Yameen on Monday made a shuffle across three ministries, appointing a new deputy and two state ministers.
According to the President's Office, the new political appointments are:
- Abdul Muhsin Hameed as Deputy Minister to the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure
- Ahmed Hafiz as Minister of State to the Ministry of Youth and Sports
- Hassan Rasheed as Minister of State to the Ministry of Health
Previously, Muhsin was the deputy minister at the sports ministry, Hafiz served as deputy minister at the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, and Rasheed was the state minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
The President's Office has been making changes to the government's political posts recently. Earlier the president had shifted Naaif Shaukath from deputy sports minister to deputy housing minister, while former state housing minister Hussain Waheed was appointed as state sports minister.
