Morteza Capital becomes Maldives' first hospitality investment manager

An investment management and advisory firm specializing in hotel and leisure investments, Morteza Capital Ltd has been awarded an Investment Adviser’s License by the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), becoming the second licensed investment manager in the Maldives, and the first to specialise in hospitality and leisure related investments.

Led by a team of Maldivian and international investment professionals, Moretza Capital boasts a years of expertise in hotel and real estate investment, banking and investment management.

The Investment Adviser’s License will enable Morteza Capital Ltd to structure and manage funds and investments on behalf of private individuals and public institutions.

The firm aims to provide investors access to investment opportunities mainly in the Maldivian hospitality sector, but also states broader plans to invest in diversified industries.

Ghaly Murthala, Managing Director of Morteza Capital Ltd, said: “Even though the Maldives is one of the top performing hotel markets in the world, investments into this space have not been very accessible."
