Three men, who were arrested over clashing with the cabin crew of a Maldivian flight, have been blacklisted from the airline for a period of six months.
The incident occurred last Friday night, when five men aboard a Maldivian flight to Laamu Atoll’s Kahdhoo got into a row with the cabin crew. The men had reportedly used obscene language during the dispute, and were subsequently taken to Kahdhoo police station where three of them were detained.
The atoll’s magistrate court on Saturday ruled to blacklist the trio from the airline for six months.
Police spokesperson stated that the three men were taken to the court on Saturday for their remand hearing. The judge had decided to release them under strict conditions.
While the police did not clarify further, credible sources stated that apart from being blacklisted, the men were also under condition to fully cooperate with the police investigation.
Maldivian is the national carrier of the Maldives and, currently, the only airline that operates to Laamu Atoll.
