The police have ordered former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's daughter, Yumna Maumoon, to be present at Police Headquarters on Tuesday to take a sample of her handwriting.

Yumna has been accused of being involved in the alleged coup attempt in early February. She was summoned by the police on Sunday to give her statement regarding the allegation.

She is accused of attempting to overthrow the current government by bribing some judges of the Supreme Court.

According to Yumna, she has informed the police that she had not done anything unconstitutional.

Several high profile arrests have been made since the State of Emergency was declared in February, after the Supreme Court issued its landmark order to release nine prominent political prisoners and reinstate unseated legislators.
