Haa Alif Atoll Hospital introduced three new services with dental treatment, thyroid tests, and Digital X-Ray on Sunday.
Located in Dhidhdhoo island, the atoll hospital launched the services on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. The services were inaugurated by the Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim.
The hospital’s Manager Mohamed Hassan stated Monday that previously, Dhidhdhoo’s residents had to seek these services at the regional hospital in Haa Dhaal Atoll’s Kulhudhuffushi.
“The doctors and facilities are all ready, and we’ve already started these services,” he said, noting that the development would be a great ease to the island's residents.
He also announced that the hospital is looking to launch more services in the future, including dialysis.
Dhidhdhoo is the administrative capital of Haa Alif Atoll. The atoll’s residents, from its 14 inhabited islands, are dependent on Dhidhdhoo for most of their needs including healthcare and business.
