Maldives Police Service has begun probing a series of robberies in Hulhumale, after three separate locations were robbed Friday night.

On Thursday night, the police had arrested two individuals who attempted to break into a safe in an office in Hulhumale.

Following the incident, on Friday, two supermarkets and a salon near Hulhumale’s central park were robbed and cash was stolen from the locations, a police spokesperson confirmed.

However, as it is an on-going investigation, it did not reveal any details of the crimes or whether they could be related.

The police spokesperson said that no arrests have been in relation to Friday night’s robberies.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old male and a 25-year-old male were arrested in relation to the robberies on Thursday night.
